Activate Audi 8Y/8Y.5 Matrix LED System
Remote activation of the full Matrix LED high-beam function on US and Canadian 2022–2025 Audi A3, S3 and RS 3 (8Y / 8.5Y). The Matrix hardware is already in the headlights; Audi only enabled it for Europe. In one remote session of about 30 minutes we switch it on with genuine Audi software. No parts, no dealer visit, and it can be reverted on request.
What you get
- Adaptive Matrix high beam – the car's camera watches for other vehicles and switches individual LED segments off around them, so you drive with high beams on without dazzling anyone. The pattern adapts to rain, highway, rural and urban driving.
- Cornering light – light is thrown into the bend as you turn.
- Included free with the activation: orange side-marker deactivation, single-sided parking light, crossing light with route data, acceleration measurement and lap timer.
- Optional ECE improvement ($49.95) – makes the Matrix behave exactly as in Europe: activation at lower speeds, faster reaction and a wider low-beam pattern.
Which cars qualify
- 2022–2025 Audi A3, S3 and RS 3 fitted with Matrix LED headlights (the standard LED headlight cannot be activated – the hardware isn't there).
2026 A3/S3/RS 3 (8.5Y) Matrix activation requires SFD2 programming – the suite shows current availability and any surcharge. Not sure which headlights you have? Use the headlight type lookup in the suite or send us your VIN.
How the remote session works
- Order the activation and, if you don't already have one, the DoIP cable and USB-Ethernet adapter ($39.95, yours to keep).
- Book a session time. You receive a confirmation email with the preparation steps.
- At the session, plug the cable into the car's OBD port and your laptop, and run FlexiHub so our technician can connect.
- We do the programming remotely – usually about 30 minutes; a slow internet connection can make it longer.
What you need
- A laptop next to the car: Windows 7/8/10/11, or a 2019+ MacBook on macOS 10.15+ (Linux also works).
- A stable internet connection and the free FlexiHub app.
- An ENET DoIP cable with USB-Ethernet adapter. Ross-Tech/VAGCOM, OBDeleven, Tactrix, J2534, Unitronic, APR, 034Motorsport, COBB and VAS/VNCI 6154 cables do not work for Audi activations.
