Choose your Volkswagen's year, model, transmission and trim and this page shows every feature we can activate on it, with prices. VW ships many features disabled on North American cars even though the hardware is fitted. We enable them remotely with genuine VW software – about 30 minutes per session, no parts, no dealer visit, reversible on request. Over 150 five-star reviews on our VW activations.

What can be activated

  • Matrix LED / Dynamic Light Assist – MK8 Golf GTI Autobahn and Golf R (2022–2024) $399.95; 2022–2024 Tiguan SEL R-Line $399.95; ID.4 with IQ.Light (2021–2024) $399.95; 2024+ Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport $299.95.
  • Harman Kardon sound system improvement – $124.95: a custom amplifier tune for MK8/MK8.5 Golf, 2024+ Atlas SEL Premium R-Line and 2025+ Tiguan SEL R-Line.
  • Drive mode remembering – $124.95 (2022–2024 GTI and R) and the hill assist patch – $199.95 (manual 2022–2024 GTI and R).
  • Travel Assist auto lane change – $99.95 (2023+ GTI Autobahn and Golf R, 2024+ Atlas SEL Premium R-Line) and lock when leaving – $49.95 (MK8 Golf, 2024+ Atlas).
  • ID.4 Exit Warning – $99.95 (2021–2023).
  • SFD2 coding options for 2025+ MK8.5 Golf and Tiguan – Scandinavian DRLs, comfort windows via key fob, exit warning, brake-assist adjustment, extra dashboard features and more, from $19.95 each with a one-time $100 SFD2 surcharge per session.
  • RS Acoustics speaker upgrades and the JLSports KLR steering-wheel module for the same cars.

Supported vehicles

US and Canadian 2021–2026 Volkswagen Golf GTI, Golf R, Tiguan, Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport and ID.4 (Arteon and Taos: hardware such as the JLSports module only). Which features apply depends on the exact year, model and trim – the page shows only what fits. Note: Matrix activation on 2025+ MK8.5 Golf and 2025+ Tiguan is not possible because VW changed the headlight hardware; other activations for those cars are listed.

How the remote session works

  1. Order the activation and, if you don't already have one, the DoIP cable and USB-Ethernet adapter ($39.95, yours to keep).
  2. Book a session time. You receive a confirmation email with the preparation steps.
  3. At the session, plug the cable into the car's OBD port and your laptop, and run FlexiHub so our technician can connect.
  4. We do the programming remotely – usually about 30 minutes; a slow internet connection can make it longer. Add several features to one session and pay the cable and any surcharge only once.

What you need

  • A laptop (or Android phone with USB-C) next to the car: Windows 7/8/10/11, an Apple-silicon Mac on macOS 10.15+, Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+) or Android 5.0+.
  • A stable internet connection and the free FlexiHub app.
  • An ENET DoIP cable with USB-Ethernet adapter, a VAS5054 or a VAS6154.
  • Ross-Tech/VAGCOM, Tactrix, J2534, Unitronic UniCONNECT+, APR Ultralink/Cheetah, 034Motorsport R4, COBB Accessport and VCP cables do not work.
  • SFD unlock: 2022–2024 MK8 cars need the SFD security unlocked for the session – we do it remotely for a $20 surcharge, or you can use your own OBDeleven Pro/Ultimate plan.

How to order

Select your year, model, transmission and trim above. The compatible features appear with prices; tick the ones you want, add the DoIP cable if you don't have one, and check out. You'll then receive a booking link for your session.
