Enhance your MK8 S model with our retrofit harness, meticulously designed for vehicles originally equipped with Entry LED headlights. These factory-installed Entry LED headlights feature advanced reflector technology and LED illumination, with the exception of the turn signals, which utilize incandescent bulbs.

Our harness unlocks the potential for you to upgrade to the IQ headlights, a premium option originally exclusive to the 2022+ MK8 GTI SE/Autobahn, 2023+ MK8 GTI S/SE/Autobahn, and Golf R models.

The High LED headlights elevate your driving experience with their superior lens technology, complete LED integration, and led turn signals. They also boast an integrated static cornering light with a 'poor weather light' function and with the possibility for Dynamic Light Assist (DLA)/Matrix for enhanced visibility and safety.

Please note, this retrofit is not a simple plug-and-play solution. To complete the upgrade, you will need the IQ lights NAR or ECE, a height sensor for both front and rear (technically only rear is required, however 2 sensors is more OEM), and a 4B Multifunction module.

Coding is required for this to work. After installation please shoot an email and programming will be performed.

Lock When Leaving MK8

When I bought my North American Golf 8 R, I was disappointed to find out that the IQ Matrix headlights were not the same as the European ones but after getting this coding modification, the Matrix headlights have greatly improved over what they previously used to be able to do. I want to thank Anthony and his team at ACM Technik for finding an alternative solution to this dilemma instead of having to spend over $5000 for the European IQ Matrix headlights retrofit.

Good so far

Installed earlier today and seems to work without issue. But I did want to add some extra details to assist others with installation.

If you unhook the battery without engaging the steering wheel lock, it won't engage. If you can park on a relatively smooth surface, it isn't too hard to turn the wheel without power steering.

1. Cycle the ignition, put the steering wheel into the first position (see their videos). Turn off the vehicle without engaging the lock (get out without turning the wheel at all).

2. Unhook the negative terminal, its a 10 mm. I like to wrap the harness size with a towel to make sure it won't get bumped back on.

3. Go back to the car and unhook the left and right airbag clips. The access hole is really close to the bottom of the wheel. You only need to do the two sides, the bottom will just hinge and fall out.

4. I don't unplug the airbag itself, just set it out of the way. Free the wiring from below the aluminum part of the wheel. Lift the back portion of the module and push it backwards to get it out.

5. Swap parts and re-assemble in the reverse order.
