The factory transmission control units (TCU) include software limiters that restrict engine power when torque limits are exceeded from tuning. For GTI models with locked TCUs, our calibration team has custom-coded the engine control unit (ECU) programming to properly manage torque signals to and from the transmission. This advanced strategy safely enables full horsepower and torque, even without a TCU tune.
 

Stage 1 & 2 low torque files are included for manual transmissions w/stock clutch.

Ready for the next step? Jump to Stage 2 by upgrading your intake and intercooler to unlock more power. This tune retains all Stage 1 features while taking full advantage of increased airflow, lower intake air temps, and faster heat recovery to safely maximize the performance of the stock turbocharger. Exhaust lovers will love the added overrun/crackle feature.

Upgrading is Easy: Moving from Stage 1 to Stage 2 or beyond is seamless. Simply install the required hardware and use your POWERlink app to purchase the tune upgrade—you only pay the difference in tune cost with no extra fees.

iE's advanced catalyst ProCore Downpipe is the only recommended option. Non-iE downpipes will result in a check-engine light.

E85 READY

Ethanol is like rocket fuel for your GTI! Stage 1 & 2 supports E60-E85 ethanol blends that produce the highest power output due to running cooler and have a higher knock resistance than 91/93 pump gas.

Dyno numbers are for reference against stock numbers only. Personal dyno results will vary depending on fuel quality, local conditions, dyno brand, and correction factors.

TUNE UPDATES
Your tune purchase entitles you to free updates to any tune revisions, new octanes, standard features, or software updates. In the event the original vehicle manufacturer issues an ECU or TCU update, this will also be included to you through iE at no additional charge.

POWERLINK VINS
Have multiple cars in the family or friends that are also ready for an iE Tune? Your POWERlink Flash Tool can be used on up to 5 different vehicle VINs. Tunes sold separately.

TUNE REGISTRATION
Once a tune purchase is applied to your vehicle's ECU or TCU, the tune is permanently registered to the vehicle and non-transferable to other vehicles. Tunes can be transferred to a second party in the event of vehicle transfer of ownership only.

REST OF WORLD (ROW) SUPPORT
Although IE does offer ROW purchases of software files, some ECUs available only in certain countries or markets may not be supported in our current file library. If you have access to read your ECU code, please contact us to verify compatibility before purchase.
