This service will activate the full matrix LED headlight functionality. This is also known as Dynamic Light Assist (DLA).

Description

This feature utilizes the Auto High Beam from the vehicle and will dynamically turn off/on individual LEDs to mask oncoming drivers or drivers in front of the vehicle from being blinded. Added bonus…when turning it will throw light around the corner to light up the area ahead. It will adjust the LEDs in different conditions ie rain, highway, rural, urban, etc.

This feature was currently only available from the factory on European vehicles with the IQ Light headlights that have the Light and Sight package.

This has been sought after in the NAR model Golf 8s since release.

Now you can have the function activated on your US model Golf 8!

 

Marking Light:

With Matrix LED Headlights, this bonus feature will be activated to turn on an extra beam to light up obstacles, pedestrians, or other hazards on the sides of the road. This allows for possible hazards to be seen more clearly at night.

 

Race Activation (Golf R Only):

This bonus feature makes the Matrix functionality extremely active while in Race or Nurburgring Drive Modes. It even activates the Matrix during lighter times of the day if vehicle is accelerating at high rates of speed.

 

Requirements:

  • 2022 + Golf 8 GTI Autobahn (aka Performance in Canada)
  • 2022+ Golf 8 R
  • 2023+ Golf 8 GTI 40th (Canada only) optioned with Matrix headlights and Auto High Beams

Programming Requirements

1.  Computer or Android phone (Laptop is preferred, but desktop may be used if you can place it near your car for the process)

 

  • Windows: 7, 8, 10, or 11
  • macOS: 10.15 or newer. Must have Apple silicon processor. Intel-based Macs do not work.
  • Linux: Ubuntu 20.04 or newer

  • Android: 5.0 or newer. Device must allow USB device sharing and have USB-C.

Works great outside the city

It's the next generation of lighting we don't get in North America due to the ancient regulations, and the difference is night and day! Everything is brighter and dynamic shading works well. Must have!

I shouldn’t have waited so long…

I had my installation appointment today with Ryan . Set up in preparation was super easy. I can’t stress how much I enjoy doing business with other enthusiasts who are passionate about what they do (and who have solid products.) because I’m old and slow it took me about 10 minutes to get ready for the appointment including SFD unlock which is super straightforward for anyone who hasn’t done it before.

I had the chance to go for a short drive tonight and watching the lights activate was really cool. You can tell when the lights are dropping below the rear bumper on cars in front of you and the animation when the high beams open up fully is really cool. Huge improvement over stock. Thanks, guys!

Expensive? Maybe. Necessary? 100%

If you can afford the car you can afford this. Just use your first months car payment (since they delay it a month) to buy this. It's 100% worth it. The car decides several several different states of light. And they don't blind anyone else and keep you at max visibility. For example if no one is around the matrix lights are on AND the brights. If a car is in front of you the matrix lights light up the street around you. But not the car. It's magic. Don't hesitate. Especially if on sale. Worth every penny. Just do it.
