Remote activation of the full Matrix LED headlight function (Dynamic Light Assist) on the VW ID.4. IQ.Light-equipped ID.4s already have the Matrix hardware; VW only enabled it in Europe. In one remote session of about 30 minutes we switch it on with genuine VW software. No parts, no dealer visit, reversible on request.

What you get

  • Dynamic Light Assist – the camera tracks oncoming and preceding traffic and individual LED segments switch off around them, so high beams stay on without dazzling anyone. The pattern adapts to rain, highway, rural and urban driving.
  • Cornering light – light thrown into the bend as you turn.

Which cars qualify

  • 2021 ID.4 1st Edition, Pro S and AWD Pro S
  • 2022 ID.4 Pro S and AWD Pro S
  • 2023–2024 ID.4 S, Pro S, Pro S Plus, AWD Pro S and AWD Pro S Plus

The car must have IQ.Light LED Matrix headlights (Pro and AWD Pro trims have the standard LED headlight and cannot be activated). 2024 cars carry a $100 SFD2 programming surcharge, shown in the suite. 2025+ ID.4 is not yet supported. ID.Buzz owners: contact us with your VIN.

How the remote session works

  1. Order the activation and, if you don't already have one, the DoIP cable and USB-Ethernet adapter ($39.95, yours to keep).
  2. Book a session time. You receive a confirmation email with the preparation steps.
  3. At the session, plug the cable into the car's OBD port and your laptop, and run FlexiHub so our technician can connect.
  4. We do the programming remotely – usually about 30 minutes; a slow internet connection can make it longer.

What you need

  • A laptop (or Android phone with USB-C) next to the car: Windows 7/8/10/11, an Apple-silicon Mac on macOS 10.15+, Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+) or Android 5.0+.
  • A stable internet connection and the free FlexiHub app.
  • An ENET DoIP cable with USB-Ethernet adapter, a VAS5054 or a VAS6154. Ross-Tech/VAGCOM, Tactrix, J2534, Unitronic UniCONNECT+, APR Ultralink/Cheetah, 034Motorsport R4, COBB Accessport and VCP cables do not work.
  • SFD unlock: 2022–2024 MK8 cars need the SFD security unlocked for the session – we do it remotely for a $20 surcharge, or you can use your own OBDeleven Pro/Ultimate plan.

Description

This feature utilizes the Auto High Beam from the vehicle and will dynamically turn off/on individual LEDs to mask oncoming drivers or drivers in front of the vehicle from being blinded. Added bonus…when turning it will throw light around the corner to light up the area ahead. It will adjust the LEDs in different conditions ie rain, highway, rural, urban, etc.

This feature was currently only available from the factory on European vehicles with the IQ Light headlights that have the Light and Sight package.

This has been sought after in the NAR model Golf 8s since release.

Now you can have the function activated on your US model Golf 8!
