Yes, the old hub needs to come off the spindle. A hub puller makes the job clean and fast; you'll also want a socket set and basic hand tools. If you don't have a puller, most shops will rent one or pull it for you on the cheap.
Will this stop the vibration I'm getting at highway speed?
If the vibration is coming from a bad bearing or hub play, this will fix it. If it's coming from brakes, tires, or suspension, this kit won't solve that—have the truck on a lift and check the other systems first.
