MQB/Evo KLR orders now include a 3D printed replacement enclosure. Due to the small design, clips for the terminals as well as to clip the two halves together were omitted as they would simply break off. The replacement enclosure is designed to fit loosely together until it is placed back inside the steering wheel, where the slot will hold everything together.

Finally!! No more warnings!!

The stupid steering wheel warning has been my only gripe about my VW GLI… And the fact that Volkswagen knows about it, and chooses to only throw new steering wheels at it that eventually fail as well.

This module was INCREDIBLY easy to change and I haven’t heard a peep from the steering wheel in over a week. This module WILL FIX that annoying issue.

Tough Install But Works Perfectly!

I bought this prior to having my Mk8 Golf R's steering wheel replaced under warranty to address the Travel Assist warnings constantly popping up.

Fortunately I haven't had any issues since installing the replacement steering wheel, but I went ahead and installed the LKR module anyways to unlock the "hands free" driving functionality.

I do a lot of highway driving and it's absolutely wonderful to not have to jerk the wheel every five seconds. I've been very impressed with the VW Traffic Assist lane tracking and performance, and this module just makes it perfect! Definitely wroth the money if you do any amount of extended highway driving!

Everything I was hoping for

I've only had my MK8 R for about 1,500 miles, but in that time I realized the Travel Assist was going to drive me crazy with the constant warnings to grab the steering wheel, even while I was actively steering the car. Additionally, I once experienced the car braking hard and veering a bit on the highway while using Travel Assist, which was the last straw for me. I am happy to say that I have had no warnings or issues since I installed this module and I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Finally I can drive in peace

After a few unsuccessful trips to the dealership, I gave up on trying to have my Travel Assist error pop up go away. It would happen sometimes 40 times per minute. I was on the verge of selling the car due to the nonstop notifications, but now thankfully I can enjoy the car again the way it was intended.

I entered the wrong shipping address and they responded to my email within an hour and corrected it. Part shipped the same day and arrived within a week. Excellent customer service. Fixed my "Travel Assist Unavailable" issues I've been having for years on my 22 GTI!
