MQB/Evo KLR orders now include a 3D printed replacement enclosure. Due to the small design, clips for the terminals as well as to clip the two halves together were omitted as they would simply break off. The replacement enclosure is designed to fit loosely together until it is placed back inside the steering wheel, where the slot will hold everything together.

Tired of being alerted to touch your steering wheel every 10 Seconds while using Travel Assist? Tired of your car ping-ponging between lanes? Then get your hands on (and install) the JLSports KLR Steering Wheel Module (*for off-road use only*)! This module will allow for almost fully autonomous driving when using Travel Assist/ACC.

This Module is compatible with the following vehicles MQB/MQBevo with touch button steering wheels (ie. Golf MK8 GTI/R, Atlas R-Line/Tiguan R-line)

Incredible

This thing is amazing. The car is no longer
Constantly yelling at me to put my hands on the wheel even though I have a hand on the wheel. It makes cruise control so much more useful and enjoyable. 10/10 recommend

Great mod! Should've jumped on it sooner.

I was cautious about replacing a module with aftermarket but this was super straight forward and the results are really as advertised. Solved the travel assist not available error immediately without arguing with the dealer. Further not having the car nag me for keeping a death grip on the wheel is a relief. Couldn't see why I had horn issues reinstalling the airbag but within minutes on a Saturday (!) I got reply email with some great guidance. Pay attention to the horn contact bars, it was not obvious I had tweaked one. With a little advice I had it all back together in minutes. Fantastic service. I couldn't be more pleased or grateful. Thanks!

Mortgage? No. Car Parts.

I recently told my bank that they could go pound sand, and that I was sick of dealing with them. Now I send all of my money to ACM Technik, and I wouldn't change a thing. Sure, my house is going to be foreclosed, but my car literally stays in its' lane, all by itself. (Wish I could say the same for Dave at PNC 😤)

Good so far

Installed earlier today and seems to work without issue. But I did want to add some extra details to assist others with installation.

If you unhook the battery without engaging the steering wheel lock, it won't engage. If you can park on a relatively smooth surface, it isn't too hard to turn the wheel without power steering.

1. Cycle the ignition, put the steering wheel into the first position (see their videos). Turn off the vehicle without engaging the lock (get out without turning the wheel at all).

2. Unhook the negative terminal, its a 10 mm. I like to wrap the harness size with a towel to make sure it won't get bumped back on.

3. Go back to the car and unhook the left and right airbag clips. The access hole is really close to the bottom of the wheel. You only need to do the two sides, the bottom will just hinge and fall out.

4. I don't unplug the airbag itself, just set it out of the way. Free the wiring from below the aluminum part of the wheel. Lift the back portion of the module and push it backwards to get it out.

5. Swap parts and re-assemble in the reverse order.
