How to Find Your Audi PR Codes (and Which Headlights You Have)
Every Audi leaves the factory with a list of three-character PR codes (production codes). Each one stands for an option or piece of equipment: the headlights, the sound system, the driver assists and more. If you're wondering whether your car has Matrix or Laser headlights, or whether a feature can be activated, the PR codes are the most reliable answer.
Where to find your PR codes
1. The vehicle data sticker in the trunk. Lift the trunk floor and look in or around the spare tire well for a white sticker printed with your VIN, paint code and rows of short codes. Those short codes are your PR codes.
2. Your owner's manual or service booklet. Many Audis have a copy of the same data sticker inside the owner's manual or maintenance booklet. Check the first few pages.
3. Ask an Audi dealer's parts department. If the sticker is missing or peeled, call any Audi dealer's parts counter (not service) and ask for the PR code list for your VIN. They can look it up in a couple of minutes, usually free.
4. Send us your VIN. We'll confirm which headlights your car has and what can be activated before you order. Use the Ask a question form on any activation page, send a message from the chat, or send us an email at support@acmtechnik.com.

Don't see your combination or not sure what you have? Send us your VIN and we'll confirm before you order.
Most common codes that indicate matrix lights: 8IZ (Audi Matrix with Additional Laser), 8IV (Audi Digital Matrix Design), 8IT (Audi HD Matrix Design or Audi Matrix Design, Vehicle Dependent), 8IY (Audi Matrix Design, Vehicle Dependent), 8IU (HD Matrix Design). Matrix type is dependent on the 8G* PR codes. 8G4 is Standard Matrix, 8G5 is HD Matrix/Multiple Matrix.
Typically, you will see a combination that determines if it is matrix or not. PR codes that determine non-matrix are usually 8G1 or 8G0. 8G0 is a definitive non-matrix. 8G1 can be matrix depending on vehicle.
Can't find the codes? Check the headlights themselves
- Matrix headlights have a high-beam section made of a row of small separate LED segments rather than one solid reflector.
- Laser headlights usually show the word "LASER" and a blue element inside the housing.
- Standard LED headlights have no segmented high-beam module.
- Digital Matrix headlights have a logo that says "Digital Matrix"
When in doubt, the PR code or your VIN is the definitive answer.
